ABOUT ME

Neil graduated with an MA in Digital Filmmaking from the University of Bradford in 2016 after leaving his previous job at the age of thirty four to pursue a new career in film and television.

During this time he wrote and directed over ten short films which displayed his own particular style and love of genre, science fiction, horror and suspense. He also excelled at cinematic language, media production and post production hoping to move into the latter after graduating.

Internships at BBC Yorkshire and The Other Planet followed but with a career in post-production not forth coming, Neil found himself on the set of an NFTS Graduation film 'Come out of the Woods' as script supervisor.

Since then Neil has worked tirelessly to be the best script supervisor he can, bringing calm and knowledgeable support to the director and a collaborative and helpful attitude to any production he has worked on. He understands continuity of actions, lighting, screen direction, props, costumes, make up and camera set ups and has spent a lot of time with editors working out what they want from notes and coverage.

Away from script supervising Neil harbours ambitions to direct and create something similar to Neill Blumkamp’s Oats Studios. He has a number of scripts and treatments at various stages and is currently on the lookout for a writing partner and producing partner who share his passion to help turn these ideas into something more visual!

"Neil is a committed (and calm!) professional, who is easy to work with, listens to and delivers what the client asks for whilst contributing his own creative ideas. "

Cathianne Hall – Development Script Editor at CBBC.

"Neil took on our commission at short notice, planned the shoot in consultation with us professionally and with the minimum of fuss, and filmed a complex event, a choir and orchestra performance in a large venue, with challenging lighting and audio conditions, unobtrusively to produce results that far exceed our expectations. We are very proud of the resulting suite of films. Neil is a very calm, reassuring and capable person to have on your team, and great value for money."

Peter Roberts – Moniaive Festival Village Project Co-Ordinator

"We have seen the passion Neil has for the industry and know he is capable of much more that we have yet to see."
